Many of us have this cycle that we go through each year. In January, we make our resolutions, often revolving around health, and we try hard for a couple weeks to stick to those goals. But, sometime in February, many of us drop those resolutions and go back to the way we were living prior.
For many of us, it can be hard to keep those health goals alive when it’s cold out. But, then when it warms up, many of us get back outside, we do more walks, bike riding and hiking. We tend to be more active. Summer is a time when we book many of our sightseeing trips. We also work hard to keep our bodies in bathing suit condition.
Summer can be good for our minds and bodies, between the stress relieving vacations and nature walks and just plain being more active. That’s why it’s no surprise that August is National Wellness Month.
National Wellness Month is a good reminder to us all to make time for self care. Many of us can get busy caring for others and handling various obligations. It can be easy to forget the importance of our own wellness. The thing is, when we take steps to care for ourselves, it can make us better versions of ourselves. We’ll be less stressed and we’ll feel better. It can help us get and stay motivated, allowing us to be more productive.
So, now is the time to start adopting even better habits that will stick with you throughout the year. Consider ways you can unwind a little, stop putting off physician appointments, be more physically active and more. Think of ways you can be a healthier, happier version of yourself.
